Dmitry Taschev, Committee Member

By my background I am a professional diplomat with Ambassadorial rank (rtd.) who worked in the Kremlin for a decade from 1990 for Soviet and later Russian Presidents and Prime Ministers and at the turn of XXI century decided to become a businessman by joining British Petroleum Russia as its VP for GR (until 2006).

Since that time I am an independent expert and interact with many partners, one of whom is my alma-mater the MGIMO University; my MBA, anyhow, is from the State Academy for Foreign Trade. Spheres of my interest for past 20 plus years are evident from my previous record while working with the Government: facilitation of trade, investment, economic cooperation between Russia and its major current & future partners (EC, USA, China, Japan, Asia-Pacific region). I concentrate on energy-related projects in Russian Far East and Siberia and Trans Pacific area in the first place, continuing search for mutually beneficial solutions and projects in gas, LNG, new ecology-friendly technologies and materials, – consulting both sides on feasible efficient business solutions and possible Government support. This also includes following agendas of G-7\8, G-20, B-20, APEC, BRICSA, SCO & EurAsia dimension – as well as bilateral activities  -  and supporting ongoing projects in high tech and energy areas.

I keep an eye on ARD since its establishment some 5 years ago, and I was elected as a Committee member in early 2016 to promote ARD activities in Russia, attract new members to our non-government organization and proliferate dialogue between businesses of the two countries and in the Asia Pacific region generally. I see good potential in this. I currently live in Moscow.

Alexey Goncharov, ARD Secretary, Committee Member

I am a Principal Scientist at the Resources Division of Geoscience Australia, an Australian Government Agency with a broad mandate in all spheres of the Earth Sciences.  I trained as a geophysicist and have a PhD in this field from the St-Petersburg Mining Institute in Russia, where I worked until 1994, when I moved to Australia with my family. I have led a number of major geoscience projects in Australia: onshore in Mount Isa, offshore on both North West and Southern Margins, and in the Australian Antarctic Territory (cooperatively with Russian scientists). I am the Science Coordinator of the Australian National Ocean Bottom Seismograph Fleet, a new to Australia high-tech research capability. I see overcoming stereotypes in the perception of Russia in Australia, and of Australia in Russia as a key challenge for the ARD and I am willing to work on dismantling the existing stereotypes.
